Sammy smiled. "There we go, that's the Adam I know, goofy Adam, not mopey Adam." She squeezed his hand again before she spoke. "Now I think I need to thank someone for saving me from the career copycat earlier."

Adam nodded and smiled, wrapping his arms around Lennon. "Thanks buddy."

Lennon grinned, hugging Adam back.

"I'm proud of you," Sammy told Lennon. "For protecting me like that."

"Well dad always says it's bad to hit girls..." Lennon said, frowning.

"It was really brave of you to stand up to him like that though," said Sammy

"Someone had to..." Lennon mumbled, looking down at the blankets.

"C'mere honey," Sammy said gently.

Lennon crawled over to Sammy, curling up against her.

"You did good sweetie," said Sammy. "If I were you, I couldn't have done what you did."

"Really?" Lennon asked, looking up at her.

Sammy nodded. "Really."

Lennon grinned and hugged Sammy.

Adam pouted, his hand still held to his jaw.

Sammy hugged Lennon before glancing over at Adam. "Honey....."

"What? ...it hurts..." Adam said, pouting.

"I know it does baby, I know," Sammy said gently. "I hate seeing you hurt....."

"Stupid wannabe..." Adam mumbled angrily.

"Shhhhh shhhhh," Sammy murmured gently. Kiara came in and tossed a cool gel pack to Adam. "Heard what happened, figured you could use that."

"How'd you hear...?" Adam asked, frowning. He pulled a face as he put the gel pack to his jaw.

"We all heard her," Kiara rolled her eyes.

"Oh...right." Adam said, sighing.

Lennon frowned, looking at Sammy.

Sammy stroked Lennon's hair, noticing the thermometer case on Kiara's hip. "Kiara...do you mind if I..." Kiara smiled, handing the small machine to Sammy. "As long as it gets done, I don't care who does it."

Lennon watched them before curling up.

"C'mon Lennon sweetie," Sammy said softly. "Let's see how that fever is hm?"
