A Family Affair

Lennon shrugged his shoulders and opened the door, raising an eyebrow once he was in the room.

Adam was sitting on the floor, drawing on paper with some of Aida's crayons.

"Aren't you supposed to be in bed?" said Sammy

Adam tried not to laugh when he heard the door open, looking up at them after Sammy spoke, pulling the most innocent looking expression he could. "I wasn't sleepy..." He said, even pulling off a childish sounding voice.

"But if you're not feeling well, you ought to be resting," said Sammy.

"But i'm not sleepy..." Adam said, pouting.

Lennon put a hand to his mouth, trying not to laugh before taking a breath to stop himself. "You mustn't be very sick then..." he said, not even realising where he'd gotten it from.

Sammy shook her head. He sounded like Cybele, she didn't like that.

Hearing Lennon, Adam's fake pout turned briefly into a proper frown, but he quickly changed it before Lennon noticed, quickly faking a cough to try and fix it.

Sammy shook her head. "Poor thing.."

Adam faked another cough, hugging his knees to his chest, looking up again as Lennon came over.

Sammy stayed where she was, watching Lennon.

Adam looked worried for a second as Lennon frowned, relaxing when Lennon knelt beside him to put a hand to Adam's forehead.

Sammy continued to watch.

Lennon looked up at Sammy after a few seconds, frowning as he played along. "He does feel warm..." he said.

Sammy nodded. "See, I told you that earlier."

"I know, I know..." Lennon sighed. "I just wanted to check."

Sammy nodded. "Okay."

Adam looked up at Sammy and gave a small smile before shuffling closer to Lennon on his knees, hugging Lennon tightly.

Lennon chuckled and shook his head, hugging Adam back.

Sammy smiled. "He's in a very huggly mood today."

"Isn't he usually when he's sick?" Lennon asked, patting Adam's back as he fake coughed again.

Sammy nodded. "Yeah, normally." Monte moved over to Adam.

"He's not sick too...is he?" Lennon asked Sammy when Monte came over.

Adam let go of Lennon, quickly clinging to Monte to quietly talk to him. "You've noticed too, right?" He asked, low enough so only Monte would hear.

Sammy shook her head. "I don't think so." Monte hugged Adam. "Yeah, I noticed," he said quietly.

"Oh," Lennon said, smiling at her. "Good."

Adam sighed quietly, hugging Monte tighter.

Monte rubbed Adam's back "It's okay."

"Draw with me!" Adam said to Monte, going back to being childish, suddenly sitting back down and picking up a crayon.
