A Family Affair

Lennon lifted his head to look at Monte, a scared look in his eyes.

"They're gone now Len, it's over," said Monte softly. "We're safe, we're okay," he said. "We don't have to worry about them anymore, we gotta worry about helping take care of Aida now, that's all, no more of the bad stuff."

Lennon nodded slowly. "I know...it's just that it hasn't bothered me for a while..."

Monte nodded. "I could tell."

Lennon gave a small smile. "You don't miss anything..."

"I know you Len," Monte chuckled. "I know you better than you know you."

"Yeah...you probably do..." Lennon smiled.

"You get all....slumpy when you're sad," said Monte, dropping his shoulder to mimic the posture he spoke of.

"Do not..." Lennon said, pouting and folding his arms.

"Yes you do," said Monte.

"Do not." Lennon said, accidentally doing it.

Monte poked Lennon's shoulder. "See?"

"Oh..." Lennon said, chuckling when he realised.

"Told ya," Monte chuckled. "and you hide in your hair when you're sad."

"I do no-" Lennon went to say until he remembered he'd just done it.

Monte chuckled. "See? I know you."

"Okay, okay..." Lennon chuckled.

Monte hugged Lennon again. "Now c'mon, this is your one chance to boss dad 'round, you gonna pass that up?" he asked, low enough so Adam wouldn't hear.

Lennon hugged Monte back, shaking his head before slowly smirking.

Monte smiled, before mirroring his brother's smirk.

Adam looked over at the boys, looking worried as he saw the smirks.

Monte pulled back from Lennon. "Go on, you got a sick 'son' to deal with," he said quietly.

Lennon rolled his eyes, smiling as he turned back to Adam. "Come on you, the sooner you let us get you looked at, the quicker we can go home..."

"But..." Adam pouted, sounding as if he'd never broken character.

"No buts Adam," said Sammy. "C'mon."

"Fine..." Adam sighed, taking Sammy's hand.
