A Family Affair

Sammy squeezed Adam's hand, leading him to the 'waiting room'.

Adam sighed once they were in the room and wrapped his free arm around Sammy.

Sammy smiled, sitting down on a kitchen chair.

Adam knelt beside the chair, clinging to Sammy.
Lennon leaned against the wall near Sammy, watching them.

Sammy wrapped an arm around Adam. "It's alright sweetie, it's alright."

Adam shook his head, pouting. "Na-ah. I'm sick..."

"You're gonna get better though," said Sammy.

"I wanna be better now..." Adam whined.

"Shhhhhhhh," Sammy said softly. "Hush now."

"No." Adam pouted, folding his arms. "Wanna be better now."

"You were told to stop..." Lennon said to Adam, giving him a look Adam had often given when telling off the boys.

Sammy ran a hand through Adam's hair.

Adam pulled a face, sticking his tongue out at Lennon before whining again.

"Adam Julian," said Sammy firmly. "What did I tell you?"

Adam froze, staring up at Sammy with 'puppy dog' eyes, pouting more.

Sammy bit her lip. Damn puppy dog eyes. He knew damn well she couldn't resist that...

Adam kept staring up at Sammy, trying not to laugh or even smile at all.

Sammy took a deep breath before she spoke. "Adam, stop that."

Adam let out a childish whine, pouting more, the kind of look usually reserved for when people mentioned Jonathan Larson to him.

That look was one Sammy couldn't handle. It broke her heart. She wrapped her arms around Adam and hugged him tight.

Adam leaned against Sammy, hugging her back, turning his head to smirk at Monte and Lennon after wiping his eyes.

Monte smirked back at Adam.

Lennon shook his head at Adam, but couldn't help but smile, thinking Adam was stupid for bother to go to such effort just to play a game.

Sammy kissed the top of Adam's head.

"Do I really have to see the doxtor...?" Adam asked quietly.

Sammy nodded. "Yes sweetheart."
