Pity The Child

"Oh, right." Adam said, kissing Sammy's cheek before letting her go.

Kiara sighed. "We should head on down."

Adam looked ver at Kiara and nodded.

Lennon was still curled up next to Monte, not wanting to let go of him.

Sammy nodded, getting up. "I'll walk him as far as I can."

Adam gave a small smile, taking Sammy's hand.

Sammy smiled, walking over to Lennon's bed.

"Mama..." Lennon whimpered when he saw Sammy, reaching a hand out for her.

Sammy took Lennon's hand. "I'm here sweetie."

"It hurts mama..." Lennon whimpered.

"I know honey," said Sammy gently.

Lennon shifted uncomfortably, letting Sammy go to wrap his arms around his stomach.

Sammy walked beside the bed as they headed out of the room.

Lennon looked up at Sammy with a frightened look, tears in his eyes.

"It's okay Lennon, we're all here," Sammy told him. "It's alright."

Lennon gave a small nod, curling up more.

Monte squeezed his brother's hand.

Lennon slowly stretched out, rolling onto his back so he could see both of them easier and squeezed Monte's hand back.

Soon, they were at the doors to the OR and Sammy realized she'd gone farther than she was supposed to. "Alright Lennon.....this is as far as I can go..."

"But...but..." Lennon tried to protest, ending up sobbing instead.

Adam pulled a face as he watched quietly from where he stood beside Sammy.

"Lennon honey....." Sammy said gently.

"I don't want you to go..." Lennon sobbed, wrapping his arm tighter around his stomach.

"I know sweetie, but your daddy and Monte will be with you, I'll be there when you wake up, I promise," said Sammy.

Lennon hesitated before slowly nodding. "O-Okay..." He said, letting out a sob.

Sammy leaned down and kissed Lennon's forehead, before watching the other take him to the OR

Adam hugged Sammy, kissing her cheek. "Go get some rest, ok?" He said quietly.
