Pity The Child

"Lennon sweetie," Sammy said gently. "You're gonna be fine I promise."

"I'm...scared..." Lennon said, letting out a sob.

"I know sweetie, I know," said Sammy gently. "I know you are."

"I don't wanna go..." Lennon whined.

"I know honey, but you have to," said Sammy

"Come with me...?" Lennon asked.

Sammy sighed softly. "I can't honey, It's too dangerous for me," she said. "Your daddy and Monte will go with you, I'll be right here waiting when you get back."

"But...mama..." Lennon whimpered. "I want you there..."

"I would go if I could honey," said Sammy.

Lennon nodded slowly. "I know..." He sighed.

"I promise, I'll be right here when you get back," said Sammy

"Kay..." Lennon sighed, letting go of Monte to hug Sammy tightly.

Sammy hugged Lennon close, careful not to hurt him. "I gotta get up now sweetie," Sammy said gently, seeing Kiara prepping the other bed in the room.

Lennon sighed, sitting up slowly, pulling a face at the pain.

Monte moved closer to his brother again.

Lennon curled back up beside his brother, hugging him tightly.

Sammy slowly moved to the second bed.

Seeing Lennon curled up with Monte, Adam got up and went over to Sammy.

"Stay with him," said Sammy. "Since I can't."

"I just wanted a hug first, seeing as you were all hugging each other..." Adam pouted.

Sammy smiled and hugged Adam. "Let me know how he is when you get back..."

Adam nodded, hugging Sammy close.

"I wanna go with him Addy......at least to the end of the hall, he's so scared....." Sammy said, tears in her eyes.

"Will they let you?" Adam asked quietly, hugging Sammy tighter.

"I just can't go in to the OR while they put him to sleep," said Sammy.
