Pity The Child

"Hey..." Lennon mumbled, slowly opening his eyes.

"Hey," Monte smiled. Sammy moved closer to the two.

Lennon gave a small smile, looking relieved.

"Told you I'd be here," Monte said.

"Yeah...you did." Lennon said tiredly.

"You wanna go back to sleep?" Monte asked.

"Not yet..." Lennon mumbled, reaching his arms out for a hug.

Monte leaned down to hug his brother. "Momma's here too," said Monte softly. "Daddy too."

Lennon smiled, pulling a face when he moved to hug Monte back.

"How you feelin' sweetie?" Sammy asked gently.

Lennon groaned and slowly laid back how he'd been lying when he woke up. "Sore..."

Sammy nodded. "You'll be sore for a little while, but it'll go away pretty soon."

Lennon gave a small nod. "Not as sore as before..." He mumbled.

Sammy nodded. "That's good."

Lennon smiled, holding an arm out. "I want a hug mama..."

Sammy smiled and slowly, gently, pulled Lennon into her arms, holding him close.

Lennon smiled and relaxed against Sammy.

Adam moved closer and wrapped his arms around both of them.

Sammy smiled. "You comfy sweetie?"

Lennon nodded, closing his eyes.

Sammy gently stroked Lennon's hair.

"Love you..." Lennon said quietly.

Sammy smiled. "Love you sweetie."

"...and dad and Monte..." Lennon added, smiling tiredly.

"Love you too..." Adam said, smiling softly.

"Love you too Len," Monte said.

Lennon smiled before slowly falling back asleep, curled up in Sammy's arms.
