Pity The Child

"That's better." Lennon answered softly, curling close to Sammy again.

"Why don't you try to get some sleep Lennon?" said Sammy gently. "It'll do you good."

"But I'm not tired..." Lennon mumbled, yawning a few seconds later.

Sammy chuckled. "Sure you aren't...."

Lennon pouted. "Fine..."

"Hey now...." Sammy said softly, "don't pout, I'll be right here, okay?"

"Really?" Lennon asked, moving hair off his face as he looked at her.

Sammy nodded. "I promise," she said softly. "I'm not gonna leave you Lennon," she added. "She did, didn't she?"

Lennon pouted and gave a small nod. "Yes..."

"my poor baby," Sammy murmured, protectively pulling Lennon closer. "Sweetie, can you tel me what happened, when she left?" Sammy asked. "You don't have to if you don't want to, but the more we know about what she's done to you, the easier it'll be to make sure she never gets near you again."

Adam finally lifted his head, looking up at Sammy & Lennon, still hugging Monte tightly.

Lennon frowned, hesitating before speaking. "I...had hurt my arm and she took me here...I went to sleep, but when I woke up she was gone..." He mumbled, tears in his eyes.

"Mommy did it," Monte mumbled. "Mommy hurt him, but she made me say I pushed him..."

"What? ...why?" Adam asked, trying not to get angry again.

"She was mad cause you and momma were in the paper again," said Monte. "and Will was mad cause they wouldn't give him your new part....."

"Jealous much...?" Adam mumbled angrily.

"She tried to hurt Monte...but I didn't let her..." Lennon mumbled.

Sammy nodded. "Has Will ever tried to hurt you, or your brother?"

"Not tried..." Lennon frowned, burying his face against Sammy's shoulder.

Kiara shook her head, knowing just how violent Will could be. She sat down in a chair by the bed, pulling it closer to Lennon. "What'd he do to you sugar?" she asked.

Lennon shook his head, curling up more.

"It's okay sweetie, it's okay," Sammy said gently. "Lennon, we have to know what they've done to you so we can tell the people who can make them stay away."

"My arm got hurt when I fell down..." Lennon said, trailing off nervously, whimpering.

Sammy just stroked Lennon's hair. "I think you should let the boys talk to a social worker, take their report with you, and get a restraining order," said Kiara.

Adam nodded. "I would've already if I'd known..."

Kiara nodded. "I know, but take it from someone who knows William very well, if you don't do it soon, he won't stop."

"How do you know him...?" Adam asked, frowning.
