Pity The Child

Monte moved closer to Lennon out of habit.

"Are you ok Monte?" Adam asked softly.

Monte nodded. "I'm okay," he said. "but when I have those dreams, like last night....only Len can make them go away, cause he's the only one that's always there."

"Oh..." Adam said, frowning. "Sorry..."

Monte got up, moving to hug Adam. "Not your fault," he said. "Mommy's fault."

Adam gave a small nod. "Yeah..." He sighed.

"Daddy.... don't be sad," said Monte. "Please?"

"I'll be happier when I know for sure she can't be mean to either of you again." Adam said, smiling slightly.

Monte nodded. "I will be too."

"Good." Adam said, smiling as he hugged Monte tightly.

Sammy smiled at the two.

Adam looked over at Sammy and raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"

Sammy shook her head. "Nothing, just watching you be adorable as usual."

"But I'm not..." Adam went to say before changing his mind. "Oh wait, it's just part of my greatness." He smirked.

Sammy chuckled softly. "Yes it is baby, yes it is."

"Haha, dad's a baby." Lennon laughed.

Adam pouted. "I am not..."

Monte laughed softly. "Daddy's a baby...."

"I am not..." Adam said, pouting more.

Sammy carefully moved closer to Adam. "C'mon Addy, stop pouting."

"But they're calling me a baby..." Adam said, sulking.

Sammy smiled softly and kissed his cheek. "I will make you smile dang it."

"Na-ah." Adam said, shaking his head.

Sammy pouted. "Fine, two can play that game then."

"Nope, just me." Adam said, pouting more.
