Pity The Child

Monte relaxed as he laid down. "Safe now..."

Lennon nodded, holding him close. "Now will you be able to sleep?" He asked quietly.

Monte nodded, yawning softly. "Uh huh..."

"Good." Lennon said, smiling.

"Night Len," Monte mumbled sleepily.

"Night..." Lennon yawned, closing his eyes.

Adam shook his head, smiling softly as he watched them.

Monte drifted back off to sleep.

Lennon fell asleep not long after.

Adam stayed watching them for a while, making sure Monte actually was ok before falling back asleep.

Kiara came in early the next morning to check on them.

Lennon woke up when he heard someone enter the room, hugging Monte tighter out of habit. He slowly sat up, gently laying Monte's head in his lap.

Kiara smiled. "Hey you, how ya feelin?"

"A little better..." Lennon yawned, rubbing his eyes.

Kiara nodded. "I'm gonna go make the rest of my rounds really quick, I'll come back when the rest of the clan is awake, okay?"

Lennon smiled and nodded. "Okay."

"I'll be back soon sugar," Kiara smiled as she left. Monte shifted and yawned, sitting up a bit and rubbing his eyes.

Lennon nodded, watching as Kiara left before turning to look at his brother. "Hey Monte." He said quietly.

"Hey...." Monte mumbled, still half asleep.

"You sleep better this time?" Lennon asked.

"Mmmmhmm," said Monte. "Feeling better?"

"A little, yeah." Lennon said.

Monte nodded. "Thank you....for last night."

"It's ok." Lennon said, hugging Monte.

Monte smiled, hugging Lennon back.

Lennon laughed softly. "Dad's noisy when he sleeps..." He said, looking at Adam, who was snoring.

Monte laughed as well. "He is..."
