Catch Me, I'm Falling

Sammy smiled, watching him.

Once he'd finished most of the drink, the boy looked back up at Sammy, brushing a bit of hair off his face.

"There's a table right behind you if you want to keep it close by to finish later," said Sammy. "Adam will help you if you can't get it there yourself."

The boy blinked, a surprised look on his face, only just picking up on the name Adam. He glanced over at Adam, the look in his eyes showing he knew of him.

Sammy watched, glancing between the two curiously.

"Fan of the show?" Adam asked, guessing by the look in the boy's eyes and where he'd found him, smiling when he nodded.

Sammy chuckled softly. "You sure do have a habit of bringing home fans don't you?" she joked, referring to how she'd been just a fan when she met Adam.

"Apparently so." Adam chuckled, looking at Sammy. "Are the boys still up?"

"Lennon's resting," said Sammy. "I had to pick him up early, someone brought pecan cookies to school, flared up his allergies," she said. "Monte, as usual refuses to leave his side."

"Oh..." Adam frowned, getting up. "I'll be back." He said, going to go see them.

Sammy nodded. "Alright."

The boy watched as Adam got up and walked off before slowly reaching to put his cup on the table, hugging his knees to his chest afterwards.

Sammy smiled, sliding a little bit closer to the boy. "What's your name hun?" she asked.

"G-Gabriel..." He said quietly, sounding nervous, turning his head away to cough.

Sammy nodded. "Well Gabriel, it's nice to meet you," she smiled. "I'm Sammy, or Mrs. Pascal for those who like all that formal stuff, but Sammy will do just fine."

Gabriel smiled and nodded, looking around the room.

"What on earth were you doing behind the Stubert, Gabriel?" Sammy asked gently.

"Sleeping..." Gabriel shrugged, pulling the blanket tighter around himself.

"Why were you sleeping behind a theater?" Sammy asked, somewhat confused.

"A-Always do..." Gabriel said, coughing again.

"You don't have a home?" Sammy asked. "A family of your own?"

Gabriel shrugged, not really wanting to explain.

Sammy gave an understand nod. "It's okay, you don't have to talk about it," she said. "Is there someone we can call, to come get you?"

Frowning, Gabriel quickly shook his head, hugging his knees closer to his chest.

"Alright, you'll stay with us then," said Sammy. "I'm not letting you go back out into the cold."
