You okay Honey?

Adam was staring down at his hands, a blank look on his face masking the whirlwind of emotions he felt on the inside.
He was sitting in the driver's seat of his car, Sammy in the seat beside him, Lennon and Monte in the back. They were parked outside a place he'd hoped he'd never have to see, let alone enter again.

His ex-wife Cybele's house.

Cybele had demanded she see Lennon and Monte for Christmas, Adam still not having gotten the restraining order Sammy had practically begged him to get.
As a result, not wanting to leave the boys alone with Cybele and her boyfriend, Adam and Sammy hand insisted they stay too; though right now Adam was tempted just to drive off instead.

Sammy reached over and took Adam's hand, squeezing it supportively. This was the last place she wanted to be either, but they had no legal right to keep Cybele from the boys at this point. She bit her lip when she heard Monte whimper from the back seat. "Mama...." he whined softly. "I don't wanna go in there......you said we wouldn't have to...you said..." The brunette sighed softly. "I know Monte, I know."

Adam felt Sammy's touch, but didn't respond, already having to force back Cybele related memories. He heard someone shifting in their seat after Monte spoke, knowing without looking that it was Lennon leaning over to hug his little brother.
Adam closed his eyes, letting out a small sigh, slowly opening his eyes again when he was sure the memory that had been bothering him was gone.

Monte burrowed close to his brother as soon as he felt Lennon's arms around him. "You okay honey?" Sammy asked Adam.

Adam nodded slowly, smiling slightly at Sammy's choice of words. "I'm afraid so..." He said jokingly, though he wondered if Sammy would pick up the double meaning he'd meant the words to have.
Lennon hugged Monte tightly, leaning his head on Monte's.

Sammy smiled slightly at Adam's reply and leaned over to kiss his cheek. "I'll be right there with you Addy," she whispered in his ear. "I won't let her hurt you."

Adam nodded, relaxing slightly as she kissed his cheek. "I know...but it's not so much me I'm worried about..." He said quietly.

"She's not gonna hurt them either," said Sammy.

"I just have a bad feeling about this..." Adam mumbed, sighing before slowly moving to get out of the car.

Sammy sighed and nodded.

Adam shook his head, frowning as he got out of the car, staring towards the house.

Lennon looked down at Monte. "C'mon..." He said, though he really didn't want to be there either.

Sammy got out, taking Adam's hand again. Monte sighed. "Do I have to..?"

Adam squeezed Sammy's hand, hugging her with his other arm.

"Unfortunately..." Lennon mumbled.

Sammy rested against him. Monte nodded and got out

Adam smiled, kissing Sammy's head, jumping slightly when he saw Cybele standing just outside the front door.

Lennon was only just getting out of the car, almost falling on his head when he saw her.

Sammy squeezed Adam's hand. "It's okay Addy."

Adam nodded slowly, taking a nervous breath before slowly looking over at Cybele.

Cybele smiled at Adam, a smile too sweet to be real.

Adam stared at Cybele, a blank look on his face, shivering slightly when he saw the smile.

Monte hurried over to Adam's side.

Adam looked down at Monte, putting an arm around him.

Monte burrowed close. "Daddy I wanna go home....."

Adam sighed, kneeling in front of Monte. "So do I." He whispered.
Lennon went over to Sammy.

Monte wrapped his arms around Adam's neck. Sammy picked Lennon up.

Adam hugged Monte tightly, kissing his head.

Lennon smiled at Sammy after brushing hair off his face.
