Cybele turned her head, bringing tears to her eyes. "Because Mama wants to know who she lost your daddy to," she said with a soft sniffle.

Cybele wiped her eyes. "I...I'm sorry Lennon, I shouldn't be breaking down like this around you," she said. "I just miss your daddy sometimes, I tried as hard as I could to keep him with us, at least for you and Monte."

"Of course I did Lennon honey, of course I did, I loved your daddy very much," replied Cybele. "I just don't think he loved me anymore...and I thought if he wouldn't stay for me...he would at least stay for you and your brother..."

Cybele shook her head. "No Lennon, no it's not okay, raising a hand to either of you to begin with was wrong," she said, grabbing the cup to rise Lennon's hair. "I never should've started at all, let alone developed the habit that I have..."
